Christie Marceau's killer.

Christie Marceau's killer.   18 year old Christie Marceau has been harificully murderd by Akshay Anand Chand. Akshay who killed this innocent young lady has been found mentally fit to stand trial and has pleaded not guilty. Mr Chand was taken to aucklands high court on the 23 of may 2012, where supperission orders on other charges relating to the case were lifted. Chand is charged with kidnapping and murdering Marceau, also seen at her hillcrest home november last year. He was found at Marceau's house with a blood stained knife, He was arrested at the scene and has been in cusstidy ever since. At the time of the killing, Chand was on bail for an incident to months earlier where he allegely kidnapped Marceau the first time.
A suppression order on the first incident was lifted today.
Justice Brewer said the current suppressions on some of the charges made no sense when "the whole world knew" what he was accused of.
It can now be revealed that he was facing charges of kidnapping, sexual assault with intent to commit sexual violation and threatening to cause grievous bodily harm for the first incident.
Chand's defence counsel had sought advice from mental health experts as to whether he was fit to stand trial. They concluded he was. He entered pleas of not guilty on all charges and will stand trial in October.
Chand's lawyer indicated she would seek to separate the charges, meaning that if successful there would be two separate trials.
Chand was again remanded in custody.

  1. Do you understand all of the legal terminologies you have used in your rather grim and serious article?
The situation around this case is so horrible. I feel so sorry for her parents. Did you know that he was found not guilty due to being classified as being insane? The legal rules seem so unfair sometimes.
Maybe next time you could chose an article to present that is a little more appropriate for classroom discussion?
